Classic First Look Photoshoot at Tibble Fork Reservoir - Poise & Ivy Imagery, Utah Wedding Photographer

But first, let me introduce myself.
I’m Ivy, a wedding photographer specializing in emotional imagery that FEELS like YOU, TELLS YOUR STORY, and STANDS THE TEST OF TIME as photos that you’ll love as much as you do now as in 20 years.
You might be thinking, “Hm, a rare talent. Not sure if I believe it,” but here’s the secret:
I’m highly empathic and emotional and if you’re in love, you bet your buttons I can feel it. I’ve practiced seeing and feeling the emotion in those around me, and putting that to work in my camera to get you the most incredible images you could dream of for your wedding.
This matters because:

Wedding photography isn’t just about smiling at the camera and posing for hours with your fiancee or new spouse. It’s about honoring the moment and the love that you feel toward one another and coming together with an artist such as myself to tell your love story in a way that will be felt for years and years to come.

Rebekah and Jonathan wanted to capture their first look in their wedding attire in a private and intimate setting with just the two of them to experience in the moment. Together they decided that they wanted to frame their special moment with a scene of trees and water befitting the mountains of northern Utah. Of course immediately I thought of which of my favorite Utah photoshoot locations would be best, and after discussing some options with Rebekah and Jonathan, we settled on the absolutely beautiful and versatile Tibble Fork Reservoir in American Fork, Utah.
Tibble Fork Reservoir is best known for the view of Mount Timpanogos, framed by two nearer peaks, but we really wanted to focus on the life teeming within the trees of the mountains. We decided to walk around the reservoir a little ways into this beautiful path where we could see the water through the trees or face the mountains within for a more woodsy look. I'm absolutely obsessed by how these first look photos turned out because they really feel peaceful and quiet, honoring the nature all around us, and bringing a very special element to Rebekah and Jonathan's first look.
After I gave the couple a moment to appreciate each other in their wedding outfits and celebrate their upcoming wedding privately, we decided to walk around the paths a little bit to really honor the scenes around us.

The way the sun is shining through her veil!!!? Are you kidding me?! This is perfection!!! The pearls embroidered on it are absolutely stunning and definitely one of my favorite styles of veils I’ve seen at weddings lately!
I’m absolutely obsessed with these! I made R+J hang out on this patch in front of the reservoir for so long; I just couldn’t let that beautiful sun go to waste!
Across the lake here, on that grassy hill, is actually the parking lot and toilets for the reservoir. I went ahead and photoshopped them out because they were distracting to the images, but in case you were wondering why this might not look just like the Tibble Fork you’re familiar with, that’s why ◡̈
I love these shots overlooking the reservoir and the mountains beyond; I think they give such a feeling of peace and contentment to the viewer, which is exactly what I hope Rebekah and Jonathan feel when they look at their photos together.
We of course had to continue our photoshoot overlooking Mount Timpanogos. As one of Utah's most famous peak, it's definitely a spot to memorialize for this beautiful California couple. Mount Timp isn't the star of the show here, though; it’s a famous peak, but to me, Rebekah truly stole the limelight, glowing in the soft evening light amid the lush greenery.
Finally we decided to take a stroll down at the water to end our photoshoot. Rebekah and Jonathan were able to share a touching moment together near the peaceful chill and we got to capture stunning scenes that show the reservoir as well as the woods behind, and the mountains in the distance.
Rebekah and Jonathan's first look was absolutely incredible and I was honored to be able to capture such an important moment for them. This photoshoot wasn’t just about the photos; it was a celebration of their connection and excitement for their new journey together. The emotions were palpable, and I'm just thrilled I could be part of such a meaningful time in their lives.
