Romantic Bridal Portraits in Utah’s Mountains at East Canyon Resort - Poise & Ivy Imagery
East Canyon Resort is an incredible venue nestled in the northern Utah’s beautiful Rocky Mountains. I was lucky enough to accompany Mikayla and Jake up to a secluded area in the Resort overlooking East Canyon Reservoir at sunset. East Canyon Resort is a stunning location for any wedding, but the way the evening was framed out for Mikayla and Jake compounded that effect and created a gallery that I’ve been thinking of nonstop.

But first, let me introduce myself.

You might be thinking, “Hm, a rare talent. Not sure if I believe it,” but here’s the secret:
I’m highly empathic and emotional and if you’re in love, you bet your buttons I can feel it. I’ve practiced seeing and feeling the emotion in those around me, and putting that to work in my camera to get you the most incredible images you could dream of for your wedding.

Wedding photography isn’t just about smiling at the camera and posing for hours with your new spouse. It’s about honoring the moment and the love that you feel toward one another and coming together with an artist such as myself to tell your love story in a way that will be felt for years and years to come.
We started portraits when the sun was a little high in the sky, so I positioned the couple against the sun so they were backlit. I love this halo effect that the evening sun gives us in early golden hour, but the light just kept getting better and better!

As the sun went down we pivoted to the incredible floral arrangements by Olive and Sage Floral, where we spent some time taking more portraits with the lake behind us.
This is such a sweet peek into a soft moment in between the flurry of the day, I love how the close crop of this photo really brings into focus the intentionality that Mikayla had this evening.

Mikayla and Jake were absolutely incredible against the bold backdrop of Utah’s mountains and lakes in the early fall, and the florals from Olive and Sage floral couldn’t have provided a better complement to our setting! We had such a blast during these editorial wedding portraits and I’m so thankful for the couple’s trust in me as their photographer.
